Our geotechnical and project engineers are experienced in applying soil and rock mechanics to the design and performance of earthen structures such as dams, mines and structural foundations; the design and performance prediction of foundations for bridges, buildings and other structures; and the design and risk estimation of natural and engineered slopes. They combine postgraduate training in geotechnical engineering and project management with years on working open pits and site investigations for utilities, agribusiness, mining and quarrying clients.

Metallurgist, Mineral Processing & Extractive Metallurgy

Our metallurgists are experienced in mineral processing, surface and colloid chemistry, extractive metallurgy, bio-processing and environmental control, with plant experience on heap-leach operations and doctoral training in mineral processing. Their capabilities cover mineralogical characterisation (SEM, EPMA, petrological microscopy, XRD), digestion of complex refractory ores, chemical analysis (XRF, AAS, ICP-MS), bio-leaching and flotation of low-grade ores, surfactant adsorption on minerals and zeta-potential measurement.

Our environmental consultants are experienced in assessing the impact of mine wastelands and tailings storage facilities on aquatic systems, long-term ecological risk assessment, and the analysis, bio-monitoring and rehabilitation of mine wastelands on the Copperbelt. They hold postgraduate qualifications in mining engineering and the sustainable development of mineral resources, and characterise the metal and sulphur species inventory of active and legacy tailings facilities and their potential to affect surrounding water and land.
