Safety
Inducted crews, daily pre-start checks, job safety analyses and incident reporting to the client's standard.
What we do
Spheroid Engineering Limited provides exploration drilling as a contractor to mining houses, junior explorers and project developers, from the first scout holes on a licence to resource definition and mine-development drilling.
What sets our drilling apart is who stands behind the rig. Our drilling crews are supervised by registered geotechnical engineers and geologists who have logged core, run in-situ tests and installed instrumentation on major projects. The hole is planned for the question it must answer, the core or chips are logged and sampled to the client's protocol, and the data arrive in a form that goes straight into a resource model or a geotechnical design.
The same rigs and crews carry out geotechnical investigation drilling for dams, plant sites and tailings facilities, and hydrogeological drilling for monitoring and dewatering bores.
How a drilling programme runs
Targets, hole depths and methods agreed with the client's geologists, then a costed programme with a realistic schedule.
Access, pads and water sorted before the rig arrives. Environmental and safety plans in place and inducted.
Daily metres reported. Core and chips logged, photographed, sampled and dispatched under chain of custody.
Downhole surveys, collar pick-ups, hole rehabilitation and a final data package reconciled against the programme.
Safety and environment
Every programme runs under a site-specific safety plan and an environmental method statement, written by the same environmental consultants who prepare our clients' impact assessments.
Inducted crews, daily pre-start checks, job safety analyses and incident reporting to the client's standard.
Sump management, spill kits, water sourcing agreed with landholders, and pads and tracks rehabilitated at close-out.
Sample numbering, duplicates and standards inserted to protocol, so results stand up to audit and resource reporting.
