What we do

Environmental work grounded in the engineering

Spheroid Engineering Limited's environmental consultants hold postgraduate qualifications in environmental engineering and sustainability and work alongside our geotechnical, hydrological and metallurgical staff.

That matters because the environmental questions on a mine are usually engineering questions: how a tailings facility will behave, where groundwater goes, what a process plant discharges. An environmental impact assessment from SEL draws on the same hydrogeological modelling and process chemistry that the design team uses, so the mitigation it proposes is one the engineers can actually build.

Beyond the assessment we develop and audit environmental management systems, run monitoring programmes, assess risk, check legal compliance and train site staff to carry out environmental works themselves.
